I am a board certified child and adolescent psychiatrist who has worked with Paula for the past ten years. I can wholeheartedly say that when I refer my patient's families to Paula I know they are in the best hands. I appreciate the extensive amount of time she spends getting to know the families and their children, and their specific needs. Paula has spent hours on the phone with me trying to best understand the child from a holistic perspective. I appreciate that she presents families with options and the rationale for each option, and does not make an autonomous decision for them. I also greatly appreciate how closely she follows the child and family through the child's care and stays connected with them afterward to help problem-solve challenges that arise. Paula makes it her mission to stay up to date with the ins and outs of programs around the country, down to details such as any recent staff turnover that she would like to vet before making another referral to that program. I have talked to other placement specialists but have not interacted with any that can conceptualize a child's needs or has the passion Paula shows in her commitment to helping families. If I were in need of assistance with my children there would be no one else I would trust.
